Well, today we had an alternative class for compsci...We attended a seminar on how to be a good and successful entrepreneur. Labels: BA week, compsci, effective entrepreneur, entrepreneur, neo, rivera, week1
The title of the seminar is Saan Ka Ba: Empleyo o Negosyo?
Henry Sy
1. Interest with the business. The speaker quoted it as "gusto mo ba ginagawa mo?"
2. Knowledge about the business. Or "alam mo ba ginagawa mo?"
3. People must choose your product. Or "bibili ba ang mga tao sayo?"
According to studies, if a person will answer YES to all of these questions then that person is a good entrepreneur. The speaker also conducted a test in finding your EQ (Entrepreneurial Quotient). The test can't predict a person’s success. It just gives an idea whether a person has a head start or a handicap with which to work.
Below are the complete set of questions which you can answer, choose between YES or NO (just write your answers on a piece of paper). Don’t look at the answers located at the bottom part. GO!
1. Did your parents emigrate from another place? 2. Were you a good/top student?
3. Did you enjoy team sports or joining clubs?
4. Did you prefer to be alone as a youngster?
5. Did you start to pretend or actual small enterprises during your childhood?
6. Were you a stubborn child?
7. Were you cautious as a child?
8. Were you also daring or adventuresome?
9. Do opinions of others matter a lot to you?
10. Would changing your daily routine be an important motivation for starting your own enterprise?
11. Yes, you may really enjoy work. But are you willing to work overnight?
12. Are you willing to work "as long as it takes" with little or no sleep to finish a job?
13. When you complete a project successfully, do you immediately start another?
14. Are you willing to commit your savings to start a business?
15. Would you also be willing to borrow from others?
16. If businesses should fail, would you immediately work on starting another?
17. Or, would you immediately start looking for a job with a regular paycheck?
18. Do you believe being an entrepreneur is "risky"?
19. Do you put your long-term and short-term goals in writing?
